Your notes. Your study. Your privacy.

This Privacy Policy explains how Love for Locals LLC handles information when you use Bible IQ, the Bible IQ website, support forms, subscriptions, sermon-capture tools, church features, and related services.

Effective: July 26, 2026 Love for Locals LLC Bible IQ

Privacy at a glance

Bible IQ is designed so personal sermon notes and captured pages remain private by default. We aim to collect only information reasonably needed to operate, secure, support, and improve the service. We do not sell personal information, and we do not allow advertisers to access personal sermon notes, prayers, or private study content.

1. Scope

This Privacy Policy applies to the Bible IQ mobile application, bibleiq.myshopify.com, support and contact forms, church and pastor features, Missions IQ, subscription-related experiences, and other Bible IQ services operated by Love for Locals LLC.

A participating church, missionary organization, payment provider, website platform, or other third party may have its own privacy policy for information it independently controls.

2. Information We Handle

The information Bible IQ handles depends on the features you use and whether information remains only on your device or is transmitted to Bible IQ or a service provider.

Information processed only on your device and never transmitted to Bible IQ or a service provider is not accessible to us. Features that use cloud backup, synchronization, OCR, AI-assisted study generation, church publishing, or account recovery may require information to be transmitted securely for that requested function.

3. How We Use Information

We may use information to:

  • Provide sermon capture, multi-page Sermon Sessions, daily studies, saved sermons, and Scripture Portfolio features.
  • Create, maintain, authenticate, and secure accounts.
  • Process support requests, corrections, privacy requests, and church-partnership inquiries.
  • Confirm subscription status and restore eligible purchases.
  • Provide church-published studies, pastor tools, and Missions IQ content when enabled.
  • Detect fraud, abuse, security incidents, crashes, and technical problems.
  • Improve performance, accessibility, reliability, and user experience.
  • Comply with legal obligations and enforce applicable terms.

We do not use private sermon notes, prayers, or captured pages for third-party advertising.

4. Sermon Notes and Study Content

Private by default

Personal sermon-note images, personal reflections, prayers, questions, and study content are intended to remain private unless you deliberately choose to share, publish, synchronize, or submit them.

On-device and cloud processing

Some features may process content on your device. Other requested features—such as synchronization, optical character recognition, AI-assisted explanations, backups, or church sharing—may transmit selected content to Bible IQ or service providers solely to perform those functions.

Sensitive handwritten content

Sermon notebooks may include names, prayer requests, counseling notes, personal struggles, or other sensitive information. Review images before uploading or sharing them. Do not submit information about another person unless you have an appropriate reason and authorization to do so.

Source separation

Bible IQ is designed to distinguish Scripture, official church material, personal notes, historical sources, and AI-assisted content. Personal notes are not automatically treated as official church teaching.

5. Church and Missions Features

Participating churches may publish official studies, sermon information, resources, events, and missionary updates. Depending on the church’s configuration, certain information may be available only to verified members, approved prayer teams, church leaders, or other authorized groups.

Church administrators

Authorized church leaders may manage church-published content and membership access. They should not receive a member’s private notes or prayers unless the member intentionally shares them.

Missionary safety

Missionary information may be generalized, restricted, or withheld to protect locations, identities, children, travel plans, and sensitive ministry activity. Users must not publicly redistribute restricted missionary information.

Encouragement messages

Messages submitted for missionaries may be reviewed by authorized church or missions personnel before delivery to protect safety, privacy, and appropriateness.

6. When Information May Be Shared

We may disclose information in limited circumstances:

  • At your direction: when you choose to share notes, studies, encouragement, or other content.
  • Service providers: vendors that help provide hosting, cloud storage, communications, diagnostics, security, OCR, AI-assisted processing, support, or website services.
  • Participating churches: only for church features and access you use, subject to applicable permissions and visibility controls.
  • Apple: for App Store purchases, subscription management, diagnostics, or other Apple services.
  • Legal and safety reasons: when reasonably necessary to comply with law, protect rights, investigate fraud or abuse, or address a safety or security threat.
  • Business changes: as part of a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, or sale, subject to appropriate confidentiality and notice where required.

Service providers are expected to process information only for the contracted service and to provide protections consistent with this policy and applicable law.

We do not sell personal information.

7. Apple and Subscriptions

Bible IQ monthly and yearly subscriptions purchased through the App Store are processed by Apple. Love for Locals LLC does not receive your full payment-card information from Apple.

We may receive purchase-related information needed to determine entitlement status, such as the subscription product, active or expired status, transaction confirmation, and restoration eligibility.

Manage or cancel an App Store subscription through your Apple ID subscription settings. Apple’s handling of payment and account information is governed by Apple’s policies.

8. Website Cookies and Shopify

The Bible IQ website is hosted through Shopify. Shopify and enabled website services may use cookies or similar technologies to operate pages, remember preferences, secure forms, prevent fraud, measure performance, and support lawful storefront functions.

Browser settings may allow you to block or delete cookies. Disabling certain cookies may affect site functionality.

9. Retention and Deletion

We retain information only as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this policy, including providing requested services, maintaining security, resolving disputes, meeting legal obligations, and preserving records you choose to keep.

  • Content stored only on your device remains until you remove it, uninstall the app, erase the device, or otherwise delete it.
  • Cloud-synchronized or account-based content may remain until you delete it or request account deletion, subject to backup cycles and legal requirements.
  • Support and transaction records may be retained as necessary for fraud prevention, accounting, dispute resolution, and legal compliance.
  • Church-published material may remain in the church’s official library according to the church’s retention practices.

After a valid deletion request, information will be deleted or de-identified within a reasonable period unless retention is required or permitted by law.

11. Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect information. These measures may include access controls, secure transmission, service-provider review, and limiting access to people who need information for legitimate operational purposes.

No method of storage or transmission is completely secure. Protect your device passcode and account credentials, and contact support if you believe your account or information has been compromised.

12. Children’s Privacy

Bible IQ is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13 without appropriate authorization. Family or church features involving minors should be managed by an authorized parent, guardian, or church leader.

If you believe a child has provided personal information improperly, contact us so we can review and take appropriate action.

13. International Use
